From Treasure to Artifact: What We’re Losing
You might as well treasure what you have now—
because if we don’t wake up,
it’ll all be an artifact in the near future.
Look around.
Your schools. Your food. Your healthcare. Your freedom.
What’s left of it is barely hanging on.
Is that the American way?
Is it the American way when the politicians you voted for gut budgets that support you—your parents, your children, your siblings?
Is it the American way to allow a despot in disguise to dismantle our education system, leaving kids with real needs to fend for themselves?
Is it the American way to toss environmental protections out the window, while wildfires rage and coastlines disappear?
Is it the American way to watch someone spend millions of taxpayer dollars golfing every weekend, while food banks beg for donations?
Is it the American way to strip voting rights from the very people—especially women and communities of color—who bled and marched to earn them?
Is it the American way to rob the poor so the ultra-rich can keep dodging taxes—while teachers buy their own supplies and families ration medication?
Is it the American way to fall from a global force of leadership to a cautionary tale—led by a handful of arrogant billionaires more concerned with control than country?
Is it the American way to follow a cult of personality, blind to the fact that loyalty won't save you when the fall comes?
Is it the American way to have someone who hasn’t even been elected calling the shots behind the scenes?
Who’s the puppet now?
Is it the American way to deny your daughters, sisters, wives the right to make decisions about their own bodies?
Is it the American way to rip human beings off the streets and deport them—shattering immigrant families to feed a fear-driven agenda?
Is it the American way to strip rights from LGBTQ+ Americans, treating their existence as a threat instead of honoring their humanity?
Is it the American way to abandon the farmers—the ones working sunup to sundown to feed this country—while corporate ag giants rake in profits and policies cut them off at the knees?
Is it the American way to ignore the very people keeping your food safe?
Because when we gut the inspectors,
how do you even know what you’re eating?
Food safety isn't optional. Not if you want to call this civilized.
Is it the American way not to feed our hungry—by cutting funding to the very food banks keeping them alive?
Is it the American way to let kids go hungry in school—because we couldn’t be bothered to fund their lunch?
Since when is feeding children a partisan issue?
Is it the American way to cut funding to the CDC?
We don’t know what wave of cooties is coming next—
but with silenced scientists and shredded resources,
we’re not just in the dark...
we’re in the snow without a coat, a flashlight, or a damn clue.
Is it the American way to gamble with airplane safety—just to save a buck?
What happens when the next flight doesn’t make it?
Who’s going to answer for that?
Is it the American way to turn a blind eye, because the consequences won’t hit your front porch—until it’s too late?
They don’t care what happens next—because they assume it won’t happen to them.
That’s not leadership. That’s cowardice wrapped in privilege.
Is it the American way to disregard the domino effect—
a collapse in slow motion, all calculated by a couple of clowns playing Monopoly with our lives?
If there’s no one working the farms…
What’s going on the grocery shelves?
If there’s no one harvesting, transporting, or cooking…
Who’s serving you in restaurants?
If there’s no one inspecting what goes into your body…
Are you still calling that freedom?
And let’s talk about tariffs.
You think they’re sticking it to China?
They’re sticking it to you.
Because that extra cost trickles down until your grocery bill doubles and your pantry feels like a luxury.
Is it the American way to gut support for the very people who served in our military—after they gave years of their lives to protect this country you’re now tearing apart?
Is it the American way to turn your back on their benefits, their healthcare, their futures—just because they’re no longer useful to your agenda?
Is it the American way to slap immigrants in the face—people who came here, believed in this country, and wore our uniform with pride—only to be cast aside the moment their service ends?
Is it the American way to scream about freedom, then strip it away from everyone who doesn’t look, love, or believe like you?
Is it the American way to ban books, but let propaganda flood every screen?
Is it the American way to fear the truth so much you start rewriting history?
Is it the American way to worship the flag while stomping on what it stands for?
Is it the American way to weaponize religion instead of practicing compassion?
Is it the American way to arm teachers, but not pay them?
Is it the American way to use “woke” as an insult, when being awake is the only way forward?
This isn’t just short-sighted.
It’s intentional.
It’s strategic.
And it’s coming for everyone—whether you voted for it or not.
Get it yet?
I would rather be dead than red.
